You run a few steps off Babadağ — 1,700 metres up — and suddenly the ground drops away. Below you, the Blue Lagoon glows an impossible turquoise, the coastline unrolls in both directions, and for twenty quiet minutes it’s just you, your pilot, and the wind.

No experience required

A certified tandem pilot handles the launch, the turns and the soft landing on the beach. You do nothing but look. It’s the single most photographed thing people do in Fethiye — and the one they talk about for years.

Fly early morning or late afternoon for the smoothest air and the best light. The season runs spring through autumn, weather permitting.

Good to know before you fly

Wear closed shoes and a light layer — it’s cooler at altitude. Weight limits and weather cut-offs exist for safety, so keep a spare morning in your plans in case the wind pushes your slot. Most operators include hotel pickup and a short briefing before you launch.

Add the on-board camera package and you’ll relive the run-off the ramp and that first swoop over the lagoon long after the tan fades.
